Unsure whether your relationship is Domestic Abuse or Relationship Conflict?

You may find yourself with a gut feeling that something isn’t right in your relationship, or you may wonder whether the behaviours you are experiencing from your partner or ex-partner are abusive. Domestic abuse and relationship conflict are very different (although can look similar). If you are affected by either it’s important to get the appropriate advice and support.

The Tool below can help to to identify if you are being subjected to domestic abuse.

CPSL Mind support groups for mums and dads

Pregnancy and parenthood is often imagined to be a time of great joy, happiness and excitement. However, the reality for many mums can be far from this whilst coping with changes in emotions, relationships, sleep, routine and other areas alongside physical changes.

CPSL Mind offer a range of services for women and men aged over 18 years old across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to support wellbeing during the perinatal period. You can find out more about each of these at Supporting Parents (cpslmind.org.uk)

Family Action also have a free Parent Helpline for confidential support and information 808 802 6666 or text 07537 404 282 (Mon-Fri 9am to 9pm)

Parental Peer Support Sessions (Embrace)

Embrace have secured funding to run a years' worth of parental peer support sessions for parents/carers whose children have been the victims of sexual violence. The programme is an internationally recognised programme called ‘You are Enough’ and was developed in Finland through Protect Children. Embrace have been fortunate enough to secure the exclusive UK license to deliver the model.

One of the huge "usp" of the project is that it focuses on the parents' feelings, not what happened to their child. As a result, parents don't have to wait until the cessation of a criminal investigation/ trial before they can access the support.

Embrace will be running sessions for parents of children who have been victims of

Online sexual harm

Intra familial CSA

Extra familial CSA

Sibling CSA.

The sessions are run remotely so there is no need for parents to travel. At the moment Embrace have funding to deliver these sessions free of charge.
