Referral to the IDVA Service and/or MARAC
Professionals can refer into the IDVA service, with the consent of the victim, where there is current domestic abuse or that which has happened within the last 3 months. For guidance on what makes a good referral, please see the document at the bottom of the page.
When making a referral please complete a DASH Risk Indicator Checklist (Dash RIC) scoring 14 or above and attach to the online referral form (see below for the link and Dash RIC)
Thresholds for referring DA victims to MARAC
- Very high-risk, 17+ ticks on Dash RIC
- Professional judgement - there is a very high-risk of serious harm or homicide that has not been evidenced within the Dash RIC questions. This MUST be documented in the professional judgement section of the checklist. For advice on cases where the score does not reach MARAC threshold please contact the relevant IDVA service using the information below
- Repeat - heard within the last year
- Escalation - 3 Dash RICs received within the last year at any risk level
As above when making a referral please complete a DASH Risk Indicator Checklist (Dash RIC) and attach to the online referral form (see below for the link and Dash RIC)
