Familial Violence

Whilst the definition of domestic abuse includes all family members, the responses and support needed are different.

Domestic abuse between people who are or have been intimate partners – this site provides detailed information about this type of abuse.

Abuse between other family members is treated as domestic abuse, especially by the police, but interventions such as family mediation may be more appropriate.
